About Us

Corrie Woods is the primary author of SCOPABlog and the host of The Standard of Review. Corrie has spent the vast bulk of his career in Pennsylvania appellate practice. He currently works as an appellate attorney for one of Pennsylvania’s preeminent plaintiff’s firms, and previously managed and litigated at an appellate boutique practice. Before that, Corrie served as a judicial law clerk for then-Justice, now-Chief Justice Debra Todd of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and, earlier, for the late then-Judge, now-Justice Emeritus Arthur M. Recht of the First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia.

In addition to his advocacy on behalf of clients, Corrie is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association, where he has served on its Nominating Committee, Judiciary Committee, Amicus Brief Committee, and Publications Committee, as well as serving as the Chair of its Appellate Practice Committee for over five years.

Corrie routinely writes and speaks on Pennsylvania appellate practice issues, including in Continuing Legal Education and Continuing Judicial Education Seminars.
